Safe cooking fuel for Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme

22nd June 2015

In recent times there have been some safety concerns from young adults using methylated spirits as a fuel source for cooking when out on expedition. This has caused many schools / youth groups to move across to more expensive gas burners (also gas is bulky). There is now an APPROVED safe alternative to consider.

Have you heard the great news about Vango Fuel!

The Gel Fuel has also been given the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and The Scout Association recommendation as their fuel of choice for use in expeditions.

The Fuel Gel received some really great feedback from the Duke of Edinburgh’s award:

“The gel fuel is ideal for our D of E participants because it is easy to use, safer than meth’s and light weight, which is important on expeditions. It is also safe to transport and is a cost effective solution.”

The Scout Association have also recommend Vango spirit fuels to their 450,000 members across the UK.

When we were at the IOL Conference and AHOEC conference towards the end of last year we passed out as many samples of the Vango Fuel for you all to try. It’s great to hear that some many of you have tried and tested it and found it be easier, safer and more environmentally friendly to use.

The Vango Fuel comes in 3 versions different versions: The gel is available in 1litre gel and 200ml gel pack and the spirit is available in 1lt bottles.
